Missinaibi lake you can drive right to it. There's a provincial park at the end of the road along with a decent boat launch. I've never fished it but have friends in Chapleau who do on a regular basis.
They fish it in the spring for lakers then later in the year for walleye. Big, beautiful, deep clear lake that doesn't see a ton of pressure. It is the source of the Missinaibi River, which rises from the lake and flows northeastward into the Moose River. Together with the Missinaibi River, Brunswick River, Brunswick Lake, Little Missinaibi River, and Little Missinaibi Lake, the shores and waters of the lake are part of the Missinaibi Provincial nates: 48°20′N 83°45′W / °N.
Many speculate the river was named after ancient rock pictographs witnessed along the shore, as Missinaibi means ‘pictured waters’ in Cree. It free-flows northeast across the Canadian Shield from Missinaibi Lake to the Moose River, and then travels up to James Bay, over kilometres in length.
